The Preset Group Mixer

The Preset Group has for several years held a large networking mixer in Las Vegas on the evening before the trade show floor opens on Digital Signage Expo, the largest exhibition and trade show focused on this emerging sector.

The first year, the somewhat unofficial event at the old school Peppermill lounge attracted about 50 people, mostly Canadians like Dave who will seize on any excuse to get together over a beer or two.

In 2010, we had 180 people at Lavo, in the Palazzo Resort. In 2011, we had about 250 at the Monte Carlo. And in 2012, we had about 280 at the Golden Nugget, and were expecting more, but a crazy windstorm kept a chunk of people from even getting to Vegas that day. The 5th annual networking party/mixer is on Feb. 11, 2014, the night before the trade show floor opens at the 2014 Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas.

REGISTRATION PAGE: Watch for it by December

The event is now firmly part of the DSE week experience, and the tickets tend to disappear in a matter of hours. Next year, we’re again having 350 or so friends around for drinks and chatter at the Hard Rock Cafe on the Las Vegas Strip, a great venue on the southern end of the Strip near the MGM Grand.

We’ll have the third floor set aside, and this includes seating areas and an all-weather covered lounge overlooking the Strip. Just to be clear, because people get them mixed up, this is NOT at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, which is off the strip.

The evening is about catching up with industry friends and making some new ones. If you are new to the business, you’ll never be in a room with more senior people than here, so bring your cards. But remember, there’s plenty of business to be done in the days that follow, so come and just have a good time.
